GENERAL MANAGER

Due to a recent restructure, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager who will oversee the efficient delivery of products and services, ensure safety standards are maintained, optimize workflows, and drive continuous improvement. This role is responsible for managing resources, scaling operations, and achieving budget goals.
  
Key accountabilities include:
 

Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a strong safety culture.

• Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, implement policies, and improve efficiency.
• Operational excellence: Including streamlining operations to improve efficiency, identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and overseeing maintenance and upkeep of equipment and facilities.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans, identify growth opportunities, and lead expansion projects.
• Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Developing and managing existing team members to foster collaboration, growth, and productivity, while providing ongoing support, feedback, and talent acquisition as needed.
• Financial Management: Manage the operations budget, analyse financial data, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Customer Satisfaction: Maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications:
 

Trade qualifications in mechanical/diesel/fitting or related field.

• 10+ years of operational leadership experience.
• P&L ownership and commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of mining, trucking equipment. 
• Experience in logistics and planning.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

• Strong understanding of the mining, oil and gas industry.
• Proven track record in leading and motivating high-performing teams in commercial or industrial settings;
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
• Leadership abilities encompassing effective delegation, fostering a positive workplace culture, and managing employee performance;
• Proficiency in business fundamentals, including financial management, budgeting, and forecasting;
• Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with company goals for financial growth;
• Analytical skills to assess market trends, identify growth opportunities, and make data-driven decisions; and
• Ability to grasp technical concepts, communicate effectively with technical staff and customers, and utilize relevant business software and technology tools.

This role is based in Balikpapan Indonesia and will require domestic travel to customer’s sites across Indonesia.
