Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Township Director to oversee and manage the comprehensive operations of a large-scale township spanning over 5,000-10,000 hectares. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in city or township management, with exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the township to ensure sustainable growth and development.
- Oversee long-term planning and ensure alignment with governmental regulations and stakeholder expectations.
Operations Management:
- Direct and coordinate township operations, including infrastructure maintenance, public services, utilities, and transportation systems.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and manage budgets for diverse operational needs.
Community Engagement:
- Foster positive relationships with residents, businesses, and local authorities to address community needs and enhance the quality of life.
- Serve as the primary representative for the township in public forums and with stakeholders.
Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship:
- Drive initiatives to promote sustainable development and environmental conservation within the township.
- Monitor and implement best practices for eco-friendly urban management.
Crisis and Risk Management:
- Develop and oversee emergency response plans to ensure the safety and security of township residents and assets.
- Proactively manage risks related to operations and development projects.
Infrastructure Development:
- Supervise large-scale infrastructure projects and collaborate with construction and development teams to meet objectives.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects without compromising quality.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards in the operation and management of the township.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in management, urban planning, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing large-scale city or township operations.
- Proven experience managing areas of at least 5,000 hectares or equivalent in scale.
- Strong understanding of urban planning, infrastructure development, and public service management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to oversee multidisciplinary teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and smart city technologies is a plus.
