The MEX App Flutter team is responsible for building and maintaining the comprehensive merchant app for merchants to manage their business on Grab. Our team comprises experienced engineers with a shared passion on improving merchant experience. Join us on devising and implementing innovative solutions aimed at enhancing the merchant experience.

As a Flutter engineer, you are expected to work on both product development as well as engineering improvements.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who strives for excellence in his/her work. We believe a successful candidate is one who has passion and is always curious. If you believe you have what it takes, we’d love to hear from you.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform​​​​

• Develop new features and improvements for mobile applications, ensuring robustness, performance, and an excellent user experience.
• Write reusable, scalable, and testable code, ensuring on-time delivery with high quality.
• Maintain existing mobile applications, including bug fixing and performance enhancements.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing with engineering teams.
• Write unit and integration tests, collaborating with QAs to ensure high-quality app releases.
• Work closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Engage in agile development processes and on-call rotations, staying updated on industry trends and suggesting process improvements.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• 3+ years of mobile development experience with 2+ years in Flutter engineering, fluent in Dart programming.
• Strong understanding of programming paradigms like OOP, TDD, reactive programming, and dependency injection.
• Familiar with several architectural approaches, including clean architecture such as MVVM.
• Experience in writing maintainable and testable code, including API design, unit testing, and UI testing techniques.
• Proficient in maintaining high user base applications using crash analytics, remote debugging, and continuous integration.
• Skilled in optimizing app performance, including network data consumption, battery usage, storage, app size, and launch time.
• Experience in iOS/Android native development, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
