Some of your duties will include:
The Advisor Procurement will play a critical role in supporting the operation and maintenance of the LNG Terminal and Regasification Department by developing and implementing advanced procurement strategies. The role involves providing expert advice, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring alignment with operational, safety, and cost objectives.
Strategic Procurement Management:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for equipment, materials, and services required for the LNG terminal and regasification facilities.
- Provide expert advice on sourcing, supplier selection, and contract negotiation to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
Cost Optimization and Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Provide insights on market trends, commodity pricing, and emerging technologies relevant to LNG and mining operations.
Policy Development and Compliance:
- Ensure procurement policies and procedures align with industry standards, local regulations, and company requirements.
- Conduct audits and reviews to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Contract and Risk Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements with suppliers.
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks through proactive planning and contingency strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure procurement activities meet technical and operational requirements.
- Act as a liaison between the procurement team and senior management to align strategies and priorities.
Mentorship and Training:
- Provide guidance and training to procurement team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes and systems.
What skills and experience do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Advanced certifications in procurement and supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement in LNG sector, with at least 5 years in a senior advisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in the oil & gas, LNG, or mining industries, particularly in managing procurement for large-scale operations.
- Experience in sourcing, contracting, and procurement for LNG terminal and regasification operations is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of LNG terminal and regasification equipment, materials, and services; Strong understanding of contract law, risk management, and supply chain optimization.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop the procurement team; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and computer literate
- Willingness to work in remote or mining locations as required.
