Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of data center operations in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards (e.g., DOSH, DOE, CIDB).
2. Conduct comprehensive GACE assessments and audits of data center facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to EHS regulations and industry best practices.
3. Deliver training programs and awareness initiatives for data center personnel on EHS protocols, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Malaysian regulations.
4. Lead/participate in incident reporting and investigation processes, collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. Monitor and evaluate environmental performance metrics, such as IAQ, Noise, energy efficiency, water usage, and waste management, and develop strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability.
6. Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities, including the development of emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and communication protocols compliant with Malaysian regulatory requirements.
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental protection, health, and safety regulations in Malaysia, including obtaining necessary permits, conducting inspections, and maintaining accurate records.
8. Collaborate with local authorities, industry organizations, and community stakeholders to foster positive relationships and address EHS concerns related to data center operations.
9. Integrate EHS considerations into operational processes and decision-making, working closely with facility managers, engineering teams, and other internal departments.
10. Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory updates in EHS management specific to Malaysia, and recommend adjustments to policies and procedures as necessary.
11. Cultivate a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among data center personnel through effective communication, training, and engagement initiatives.
 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preffered.
  2. Professional certifications under DOSH registeration is a must.(Registered Safety & Health Officer)
  3. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS management, with specific experience in data center operations is a must.
  4. In-depth knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations and standards, including familiarity with DOSH guidelines, DOE requirements.
  5. Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with Malaysian regulations.
  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  7. Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of conducting thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
  8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software.
  9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  10. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of EHS management, including participation in relevant training courses and certifications.
